Alerts and notifications
Get told about budgets, forecasts, spikes and new models in email, Slack or Discord.
Alerts watch your spend for you and tell you in email, Slack or Discord when something needs attention. They are included on the Growth plan and above.
What you can be alerted about
| Alert | Fires |
|---|---|
| Monthly budget | When month-to-date spend passes an amount. |
| Forecast overrun | When the month-end projection passes an amount (from the 3rd of the month). |
| Daily spike | When a day's spend jumps past a multiple of the 7-day average. |
| New model | When a model you haven't used in 30 days starts billing. |
Budget and forecast alerts can cover all providers or one. Rules are checked every hour and right after each sync, and each alert is sent once per period, so a budget you passed on Tuesday doesn't message you again every hour.
Set up where alerts go
Open Integrations and pick a channel under Notifications.
Slack
- In Slack, open Apps, add Incoming Webhooks and choose the channel.
- Copy the webhook URL (it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/).
- Paste it on the Slack card, optionally give it a label such as #ai-costs, and click Add Slack channel.
Discord
- In Discord, open Server settings, then Integrations, then Webhooks, and create a webhook for the channel.
- Copy its URL and add it on the Discord card with Add Discord channel.
Add any address on the Email card. Each address receives plain-text alerts.
After adding a channel, click Send test to check it end to end. Developers who want raw JSON can add a webhook on the Destinations page.
Create a rule
- Open Alerts and choose the alert type.
- Set the amount or multiple, the provider if you want just one, and the channels to notify.
- Save. The rule starts checking at the next sync.
When an alert fires it also appears on the Alerts page, where you can acknowledge it, snooze it or mute it.
