Fixes for the questions people ask most.
“Rejected the key” when connecting or syncing
The provider refused the key. The message after it is the provider's own explanation. The usual causes:
- It's a normal API key, not an Admin key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor).
- The key was revoked or rotated on the provider's side. Delete it in Lamdy and connect a new one.
- For Azure, the service principal is missing the Cost Management Reader role on the subscription.
Connected, but no spend shows
- The organisation may simply have no billed usage in the imported window. A quiet month shows as $0.
- The key may be scoped to a single project. Use an organisation-wide key; see Connect a provider.
- Some providers publish cost hours after usage. See Data freshness and accuracy.
“I use Claude every day, but Lamdy shows very little”
Lamdy shows the API usage of the Anthropic organisation whose key you connected. Two common reasons the number is lower than you expect:
- Your usage is a subscription. Claude Pro or Max (including Claude Code signed in with that plan) is a flat monthly fee, not API usage, so it never appears in API billing. Add it on the Subscriptions page.
- It's a different organisation. Each Anthropic organisation needs its own Admin key. Connect a key from the organisation that is actually billed.
The same applies to ChatGPT plans and Cursor seats compared with OpenAI and Cursor API usage.
A total doesn't match the provider's console
Check the date range: providers bill in UTC days. Credits, prepaid balances and tax are not part of usage cost, and today can be partly estimated. Details are on Data freshness and accuracy.
A model is missing
Every model with usage in the window appears on the Dashboard and Models pages. If one is missing, its usage is probably on a different key or organisation, or it hasn't been reported yet. Click Refresh to re-read your providers now.
An alert didn't arrive
- On Integrations, click Send test on the channel. The result shows the exact error if delivery fails.
- Check the rule is enabled and the channel is ticked on it.
- Each alert is sent once per period, so a budget already passed this month won't send again.
